Complete Guide Curly Hair Care

Having naturally curly hair isn't easy, is it? We know it, you know it, people who aren't reading know it, but what else is new?

The problems that naturally curly people face are not as well known as its difficulty, but if you have curly hair, then you are already related to the problems we are going to mention.

But don't worry! We've prepared the solutions for you so you don't have to look elsewhere. Here's what you need: a pen and paper, and your eyes open!

A little too dry

Bouclées

There are so many reasons for dry hair: genetics, chemicals, hair dryers, heat treatments, and even swimming, as chlorine can be very damaging. While dry hair can ruin your hairstyles, treating it is fairly easy and straightforward!

The solution:

Use shampoos/conditioners that contain moisturizing agents and eat foods that are very rich in omega-3s.

Too many tangles

Chemical processes can severely damage hair, including the cuticle, and as a result, hair strands may become excessively tangled.

Solution:

The damage is already done, but don't make things worse by combing your hair harshly... Instead, use extra conditioner while you comb your hair so you don't have to use force with it.

Not the right length

We hear a lot of people complaining that their curly hair is too short or never grows to the desired length. This is quite common among naturally curly people, as curly hair tends to break more than straight or wavy hair. However, we have you covered.

FriséesThe solution:

Split ends need to end, it's as simple as that. They're part of the reason your hair breaks too early. You can trim them before they do so on their own to have more control over the hair growth cycle. If you're wondering how often, a trim of a few inches every couple of months will be plenty.

Curly indomitable

It's true that frizz isn't exclusive to curly hair, but curly hair is more susceptible to it. That's why we're making a statement.

The solution:

The healthier your hair, the less frizzy it can be. However, when you're on the hunt for healthy hair, be sure to use anti-frizz products to help reduce the appearance of frizz.

Volume out of range

Someone with straight hair might never think of volume as a problem, but someone with curly hair knows that something as small as too much volume can make life more difficult.

Solution:

This one has a simple solution: Experiment with haircuts to find out which cut suits your volume.

Triangle hair

Bouclées

The name of this number is unfamiliar, but you know you've experienced this once before.

This is when your hair straightens a little from the top down and starts to curl downward. Your hair then takes on the dreaded triangle shape.

Solution:

Hair mousse. Simply adding a little mousse to your hair can solve this problem. To do this, add a little mousse to your curls before diffusing them.

Slimming

Frisées

Every curly-haired model seems to have a big bed of thick hair, but what about those of us who sometimes suffer from thinning?

Thinning hair can have many causes, although they are valid and every human can review them; this does not change the fact that it alters the appearance of our hair and can affect how a person perceives their image.

The reasons could be any of the following: genetics, nutritional deficiency, stress, diet, illness, or something else entirely.

Solution:

First, cancel the panic from your schedule. Avoid hairstyles that stress your hair follicles: updos, ponytails, and top buns.

Broadcaster dependent

While everyone uses diffusers, naturally curly hair depends on them every day. If you think you can wait for your hair to dry on its own to start your day, then you'll want to start before midnight because curly hair takes longer to dry at normal room temperature.

Solution:

Have you had a sleepover somewhere where there's no diffuser on hand? There are plenty of new, "creative" ways to replace a diffuser, like using a strainer. Yes, we're talking about the kitchen strainer. While we don't recommend it, many people like it and say it does almost exactly the same job.

The next logical solution is to go back to basics: Any hair dryer will do!

Can't get bangs

boucles

Curly hair is a hairstyle in its own right, but we know that sometimes a change of style is necessary. Like, say... bangs! They don't work well with curls. However, hair products and accessories have hardly left any mark. Below, you'll find a solution for getting bangs without sacrificing your curls!

Solution:

There are now hairpieces that have bangs attached, not the solution you were waiting for, but a small extension that can be used as easily as a hairpin: the best option to achieve perfect bangs effortlessly.

Schedule a wash

Do you wash your hair every day? Do you wash it every three days? Deciding when to wash your curly hair can be a hassle—it almost requires a corporate-level schedule! You hear people say that washing it every day leads to thinning, then you hear that delaying it by a day leads to oily buildup... and the window for perfect curls is a tiny window between "just washed" and "it's been too long since it needed a refresh."

FriséesSolution:

Plan your week in advance. If there's an important day in your calendar, make sure to schedule your hair wash around that day; otherwise, three to four times a week is perfect.

If you have naturally curly hair and haven't yet made the transition to heat-free curls, we know how challenging you're facing. You're going to have to try as many curly hair routines and products as possible to find the one that fits your hair like a key to a lock!
